So....you want to be an artist?

Here it is: the New Year.

Recently, I've had the pleasure of catching up with friends (socially distanced or via Zoom, of course), and some beautiful conversations have bloomed despite our physical alienation from one another.

It was on a hike with a dear friend that these flowers (featured in the above pic) were found. There we were, in the middle of a very empty trail, just enjoying the views and the elements of nature surrounding us. I was grateful to spend a few hours out in nature with a friend I admire and genuinely enjoy passing hours with. Then, there this flower was. We couldn't tell if it was alive or dying, but either way, it captured our attention in the midst of a very gray, desolate, and serene landscape. These are the moments of 2020 that I am most grateful for, and I am hopeful that the coming year will also provide some similar moments (minus a pandemic).

Recently, I joined a zoom call with some college friends. We each took turns in telling each other our future hopes, goals, and dreams. All of my friends are very talented, driven, ambitious, and wonderful people. Everyone has such a unique path that is unfolding beautifully. If you are reading this, I hope you know the support, love, and belief I have in you!

I listened with admiration and love as each of my friends expressed their hopes, dreams, and goals for the future. Then it was my turn. I realized....I don't have a grand scheme, or a grand plan. I just know what I love to do, the people I love to spend quality time with, and my hopes to have a long, full life filled with art, helping others, and cherishing the moments day-to-day with the people I love.

Happy New Year!

Love,

Margie
